On 16 March 2011, JSC Olainfarm concluded a contract No. KPFI-6/5 with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and the Environmental Investment Fund on the implementation of the project “Reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by improving energy efficiency at the 2nd and 4th production block of JSC Olainfarm.

The aim of the project is implementation of complex measures in two industrial manufacturing buildings of JSC Olainfarm, thus reaching the total reductions of CO2 emissions by 244,505 kg CO2/year and annual energy savings of 903.6 MWh/year.

The project was implemented in 2011 and 2012.

The total project costs are 878,246.95 EUR. Of the total costs, the requested financing from the Climate Change Financial Instrument (CCFI) is 326,620.76 EUR.

Project chronology:

• On 3 August 2011, the procurement procedure on simplified renovations of the 4th manufacturing block of JSC Olainfarm, by improving its energy efficiency, was completed within the project.
• As of 31 August 2012, construction works planned within the project No. KPFI-6/5 at the 4th manufacturing block were completed, and it is planned to start replacement of lighting fixtures in the 2nd and 4th manufacturing block.
• On 30 December 2012, project No. KPFI-6/5 was fully implemented and the project aim was achieved.
